DEC 4TH MEET AND GREET AT PRESTON BEACH
« on: 04 December, 2011, 05:45:10 PM »
Well the day started at the 7am alarm my GU packed the night before and all ready to go.We left home at 8.30am to be at the mandurah forum by the 9am meeting time and was only 3 mins late, after about 25 minutes rob gave us a quick talk and we all saddled up and moved out on to the road as a convoy which i must say looked impressive from there we headed down the road to the white hills road turn off and arrived at the tyre down area and let some air out down to about 16 psi after that we all got sorted into our driving numbers, being newbies mixed up with the PROS so nothing could go wrong and if it did we were all positioned accordingly to help out .From there we all got moving onto the beach which was quite soft in places and headed south about 5ks down the beach we had a little misshap marty [i think] blew a A/C hose nothing to drastic as he wasnt using it anyway then we got moving again.A further few ks down the beach we all stopped for a break, drinks food etc the kids got out and had some fun before we moved on to preston beach, after about half an hour we all got moving again to get to preston beach the beach was pretty good to drive on as we all took our time to get to the next stop at the toilet area at preston beach, all the ladies and kids went to the toilets some of us went to the shop to stock up on some drinks etc before we departed for our final destination,so it was back into the patrols again and off we go for about 10ks south again, ounce we got to our destination we all parked up and got to know each other a bit better, the water was brilliant flat as bro and the cloud cover made it even better all the kids had a swim and then they had a sandcastle building comp and of coarse they are all winners,we stayed till about 3pm then all desided to call it a day,it was a great as the kids slept all the way home and of coarse a great day for the club with lots of newbies including myself had a great day its not bad when you go for a drive and come home with a winch[thanks john the flying badger] also thanks to rob for setting the trip up. Well thats about it for the trip report for this occasion thanks to all the club members for makeing myself and the newbies feel most welcome but the best thing is that im doing the trip report after my wife tracey forgot the camera[thanks rob] also thanks to craig and thomas for the tips on what to do to gu patrols, must talk again about it my head still spinning.Well thats all folks till next time cheers ERIC THE VIKING!

Well said Eric,

Nikki and I'd like to thank Rob and Thomas and all who attended to make the day what it was, especially the newbies, it was great to meet you all and I know you'll all be back  :D

Nikki is putting her photo's through some post production process as I type this so I'll post some up very soon, in the meantime I'd better go back out and wash down the Patrol and get all that salty sand out of everywhere.

Cheers,
Craig & Nikki  ;D ;D ;D

Hi,

My wife Lesley and son Iaian had a great time on the meet and greet, I am hoping to get to the next club event. Here are a few of the photos that were taken by them.

Thanks Rob and Thomas for a great drive down the beach, and putting there hand up to run it. Cheers to Mike for the attempted fishing session. Beautiful conditions to swim = hopeless fishing conditions. It was better than being at home and beats getting up early to race down the freeway to try and avoid the trip report.

Heres a few pics we snapped.

Thanks again.

Cheers for the day, just a real shame we had to bail early. Big thanks to Richard & Kim for their company overnight, Rob for playing courier for me and to Doc for the escort home. Will post the diagnosis when more is known.
