Thanks to FOS and UK Kiwi for leading the trip and for looking after us all as leader and TEC. A fantastic turnout 11 vehicles all Patrols a good mix a GQ shorty, GU 3 and 4.2Ls, a tray top and a GQ LWB. Some new families, well new to me anyway great to meet you all.

Family Seaview have the “who is going to drive thing” sussed they brought a car each, smart move. So everyone was early at the Light Horse Memorial except for yours truly who actually managed to arrive on time but last in line so got caught with report. Anyway FOS got us all rolling by 8.45 and it was off to Wilbinga Grove and in to the northern play area.

Well that area was a revelation FOS had first shot at the dune and had to the let the younger generation show him how to do it, well done Sam, hope you talked the old fella through what you were doing so next time he can get it right. Mind you she outshone most of us as I don’t remember anyone making it first go after she did, but eventually a few of us got up it.

So once all the keen ones had had their fun it was off to the beach for the kiddies to have their fun and lunch. What can I say beautiful water, lovely views gentle waves, nice breeze and horrible horrible soft sand.

We had our fun getting through it, but that was nothing compared to the fun some poor soul in a Great Wall wagon had. Don’t know about the Great Wall of China this poor sod was digging a hole to China. We watched and helped (Well mostly UK Kiwi did the helping, most of us stood around discussing the shortcomings of Chinese cars). We also saw a Prado and Jeep make it look hard as well. Fortunately we all got out of there with a minimum of pain. Excepting the Seaview family GQ but granted they did get brave and take the hardest route. One thing is for sure the max trax had one of their biggest work outs ever today. Great advertising for them.

Eventually it was time to say home kiddies and off to Wanneroo Rd to air up and home FOS led around the tracks with a few climbs and descents which were fun with one unfortunate can’t remember names popping a tire off a bead and then it was air up, good bye and home.

Great day, great swim and if you are thinking about buying a Chinese 4x4 insist on a thorough test drive and for crying out loud fit some recovery points so that the better equipped can help you out the easy way with a tow instead of a shovel.

Great day out in the sun , a little too much paying for it today , thanks for leading us FOS my old man and brother had a great day aswell so maybe can convince them to join up 

Swim was nice along with the clown show from other beach goers

Suprised there is no mention of a certain silver wagon crossed up on the exit of the beach , no recovery needed though just a temporary halt in forward movement

Oh i forgot to mention stunt of the day goes to Luckybugger  when he hit the edge of a mound coming of the beach and showed us a BIG 2 wheeled salute !!!

Yeah it was a bit warm up there yesterday I reckon most of us were looking a little bit fried by the end of it. Mind you he spent half the day on his hands and knees shovelling sand out from under crap cars no wonder he ended up looking more like a pom at the beach than a kiwi

Hope he rehydrated afterwards I know I did it took a few beers I can tell you but I got there in the end
