Gnomesville Monday 6th Jume 2011

Okay Guys

A great day out thankyou very much to Rob and Thomas picking up the trip from Bri and Beachy, rest assured guys they followed in your footsteps and honoured all your traditions with at least one “oops time to go backwards before we even got started moment” early in the piece. All kidding aside everyone needs to say thanks to Bri for the inspiration for the trip and then to Rob and Thomas for picking up the reins.

So down to business , I believe you all got moving around 0830 from the bakery there were some early starters there as I snuck past at about 0720 and spotted a couple of you already parked there as I slid down to Waroona to join up with Mummafied. Eventually you all got yourselves down to Waroona and the full cast was assembled including,

RobsGQ,  2shortGQ, Franko's Patrol, TheFlyingBadger, AlmostDun, turbojoe, Mummafied with bigbaz, oli and Ben,  chocko, Paulak (I’m sure there were more cars than that but Rob has the sign on list so correct me if I’m wrong) and ET caught up with us at lunch time at Gnomesville.

So down SW HWY past the Collie turn off and then up into the hills and Rob starts off following the little yellow line on the GPS and it was straight into it within 5 minutes we are sorting out the men from the boys. Everyone got through and I hope the photos we took did it justice. From there it was off to a puddle for some fun for those who have missed playing in the mud over summer. As they say a picture says a thousand words so see the pictures.

Smoko and off we go again some nice winding steep and slippy tracks, was I so glad I took Bri’s advice and didn’t bring the challenger poor thing was sat sulking in mummified driveway cause it missed out but when it see’s photos it will get over it. Anyway we wind our way to gnomesville and lunch.

At Gnomesville we catch up with ET and Marge and have a good wander around, amazing place and well worth a look. I’m putting that on my must take visitors and tourist lists. If you haven’t been go and do take a gnome. I’ll have to go back ‘cause I didn’t a take a gnome.

From Gnomesville it’s back the way we came, we cover the first few kilometres in record time with lots of photo opportunities, post them guys so all those who didn’t come can see what they missed. We get back to the midway point and mummified, family and myself part company with the convoy and head home but Rob promises to pick up the trip report from here. I presume you all got home safe from the gnome photos already posted.

For me though, great trip, reasonably challenging driving, lots of team work (fantastic) spotting each other as necessary, great destination “Gnomesville” and simply lots of fun.
Thanks to Rob and Thomas for picking up the reins from Bri and Beachy and running a great trip  and mummified for offering me a lift, cooking lunch and getting me home safe.

Anybody wants the originals of the photos I posted please pm me with an email address and I'll send them through.

Cheers Guys

One of the Suburbs of Gnomesville... just one... I reckon there must be about 6 or 8 thousand Gnomes down there but wouldn't be suprised if it was double that. They are everywhere you look.

... and most importantly started the WPC Colony

If anyone is going down to add Gnomes and hopefully a sign to our Colony they are under the tree closest to the Roundabout immediately beside the Car Park .. you can just see the roundabout in the background with some vehicles parked on it.

...

If it's Tourist Season why is it illegal to shoot 'em?.

Another good trip out. Thanks for the day everyone, and for Rob and Thomas for helping out to lead the trip.

Not sure what photos I have as I am hesitant to look at the camera. The kids were sitting in the back of the car with the camera most of the day and filled the memory card.... Not sure how much you can see through windows covered in muddy water ;D

Kids had a ball telling Daddy to go through the water again, and the boy did tell me that I had to go where the lux in front of me went as they were not as good as a Nissan and why were they on the trip with us :P

Now for the suspension upgrade

Looks like a great trip. It looks a bit dry still so there is still a chance to do it again & be different.

Thanks for all who obviously made it successful

Cheers

A good pick of 'our' gnomes. How come ET's tront and center?
Sorry we missed out. We didn't go to do 'stuff at the 'new' house-and then wished we had gone. Another great trip we missed out on!
