Night Patrol

Beachy & I met on Paganoni road just before the freeway entrance then continued on to the Pinjarra bakery to find Almost Dun & GU family waiting. Soon after noting the bakery was closed & exchanging pleasantries Nasty Marty arrived. We had a quick trip briefing then headed off for Napier road before it got too dark.

It looks like ET’s information about Napier closing is true as there is a couple of scoops of earth out of the edge of the track near the beginning ready for a gate to be installed.

At the top just after one chance we took the track to the left to a clearing & lookout for the sausage sizzle & waited for the sun to go down. With full tummies & a near full moon we started the hardest challenge of the night – turning all the cars around to leave the lookout then headed off to Scarp Road & the fenceline track. It certainly is different at night but our intrepid leader Beachy failed to get us lost so eventually he passed the lead to Dylan in the hope of getting an interesting side trip happening but it is a funny thing about fenceline tracks how hard it is to take the wrong turn and we found our way to Scarp pool without incidence.

The trip ended at Scarp Pool where we had a chat & worked out the best place to camp was Marranup campsite. Almost Dun & GU family then headed for home while the rest of us sensing beer o’clock was close went off to the campsite.

Cheers

It was a great night, just what I needed after the long week.

Wasnt reallly much of an opportunity to get any pics as the tracks were so confined on the sides, but still heaps of fun. Some great hills that will be challenging in the wet - definitely muddies required.

Good to see the track was in pretty good nick too. Thanks to brisey and Beachy.
