Topic: Daytrip 20/8/12 Monday Meander "Find that bridge trip"

Four of us made it for the trip Beachbums, Brisey, Iffy and 6.5 ute in his new Landcruiser (I was hoping to see the big Q ute with the 6.5 Brunny in it but Justin wanted to see how the new toy went)  Howezit unfortunately had to pull out.

After feeding up on pies at the Pinjarra bakery meeting spot we had a quick natter amongst us to decide where we'd head to. Nothing like being organised, is there? Bri and I and quite a few other members have been out on trips with us looking for a little bridge that we haven't been able to find for the last 3 years or so. Yep, that's the plan then, let's have another go at finding it. Decision made it was off to Waroona and a couple of backtracks to eventually end up over near Hoffmans Mill area.
We spent a fair bit of the day dodging in and around logs and trees that were down on the tracks and bugger me we actually found the bridge!!!!

By now it was time to pull up for lunch so into Hoffmans we went. Lunch eaten and all refreshed we decided to have a trundle through "Wombat Swamp" where TuffTonka had come to grief soemtime back. Taday it was easy enough with the water much lower.





With a bit of a backtrack (who'd a thought?) Bri took us to Jennys Mudhole for a look. Didn't get any pics there so it'll be a surprise for you next time we go 

Back on the Logue Brook road we decided to go hit a few of the usual spots around Yarloop way and filled in the rest of the arvo wandering the tracks.





































Trip completed and a good day out with mates we pulled into the old Premier Hotel in Pinjarra for a sharpy and a debrief on the days outing. The general feelling was that we had found a terrific 3 hour loop for a NightNav type of event in the near future. Once we find another loop or two we'll see about getting it happening.

Thanks to the guys that came for making this another great day out in the scrub.

We always have to test out a dodgy bridge just to see if it's safe. The creek crossing after the bridge was surprising it looked like it was only a couple of inches deep but it nearly swallowed the jeep.
