Well somehow even though I was there before 1500 I still got the trip report duties......me thinks I was setup.. ::)

With all the Friday crew gathered in the carpark across the road from the Pub we set off at 1500 for a quick drive to our camping spot for the night.......YEAH RIGHT
Our intrepid leader Rob lead the way, somewhere we aired down and continued the drive but we came across 1 tree across our path, this one was quickly moved and we were mobile again.
Well you would not believe it, another tree across the road, and another, and another, and another, and another, luckily our leader had the forsight to bring his chainsaw.
It was late evening when we finally arrived at our camp area, so set about getting a fire going with all that we could find, green and wet wood, but the leaves burnt well..
Around midnight we all crashed and dreamed of trees across roads.

The next morning we awoke to a very foggy start to the day, with a heavy dew just to make it perfect...

When all of the youngsters finally awoke from their beauty sleep, and believe me they all need it we had breakfast and then Rob left us to meet the Saturday arrivals at Dwelly.
After breakfast we all packed up, having several breaks to thaw out our fingers, bloody hell it was cold.
All packed up we gather around the camp fire which had been out for around 4 hours just looking at it in hope there was a miracle about to happen and it would somehow come alive and warm our cold hands.....did not happen. :o

With our new and improved trip leader, Ropes we all set of to rendevous with Rob and the Saturday arrivals.........I have to say that we did not come across one tree blocking our way, well done Ropes.
We arrived at the meeting spot and waited for Rob and crew to arrive, once there we all set off for another quick drive to Saturdays campsite.
The quick drive took a bit longer than planned, as everyones friends.... DEC closing just about every track that we came across.
Finally the decission was made to go to another camp via The Captain Fawcett Track which was covered in a lot of lovely mud holes. 8)
We turned off somewhere and found a suitable camping area with lots of beautiful semi dried wood.....Hooray

With a roaring great fire going in no time we all settled in for another night out in our beautiful countryside.

Sunday we all relucantly left and came back to civilisation.

I would like to thank Rob for organising this trip, Ropes and Thomas for leading some sections as well.
Another great trip away (for me the first in 2 years) with a great bunch of people, thanks to everyone that came on the trip...........see you all at the next one.

I was stuck at home doing up the Treasurers Report for the AGM but must admit I did take a break to watch my beloved Parramatta give it the the Melbourne Storm... so, yeah, guilty as charged

Tried to get there for a beer Fri Nite but too many trees down across the road so I gave up and went home... true... really, I did... jeez, you guys won't believe anything  :P

...

If it's Tourist Season why is it illegal to shoot 'em?.

I'm not having a second childhood, I'm stuck in my first one.

I'm guessing Maxtrax are pretty popular, considering the amount of orange on the roof racks? Must be a GU thing lol

Don't stress.  I've got a set too.  lol

Know what you mean, I go by the scratches in the paintwork from being driven in the scrub.

Q's owners I can pick by the quality of the polishing job they've done for their Latte Cafe trips.

 ;D ;D ;D

Cheers, Wayne
