Well here's the trip report.......
The main meeting place was the Masters Carpark in Baldivis. From memory there was about 11 trucks took off from there to Dwellingup via the back blocks.
DX grunt was the first to get bogged in the first 'puddle'.
That set the mood for the day and basically divided the group. 3 of us got bogged (DX grunt Flying Badger and Turbo Joe). DX grunt bottomed out on his springs, Badger took the wrong lines, and Turbo Joe gave his truck a treat, with an exhaust bubble bath and flooded his cab) After that dillema, we arrived at Dwellingup about 11am, or thereabouts, had a quick bite to eat and met up with the other group.
Many of the tracks that were planned to navigate, were closed, so we had to find another playground, which we did. Even the local constabulary in their Hilux joined in for a bit. lol. Don't know where, but it challenged a few of us. Up hills and down dale, with plenty of corrugations and wash outs, was the order of the day. There were a few courteous 4wders that let our group of 20 pass -unhindered.
One number plate was lost, another found.
Came across this massive tree across our path. The city slickers chainsaw just 'didn't cut it', but the country boy bought out his Stihll Farmboss - that did the trick - with the help of Beachy's snatch and drag experience. Thanks to the manual labour for pushing the tree out of the way. I think we made many drivers breathe a sigh of relief.
Back onto the dirt road, a quick air up and many departed their ways, but a few stayed back at Pinjarra Pub for a softie, before meandering home.
Thanks to all involved in organizing. Thanks to the Peel 4 x 4 Club for making it a more interesting day.
As I've said, the groups split, so feel free to add stuff and don't forget the pics.
For me personally.....I learnt a lot about my truck and with skinny tyres, it's all about tyre pressure. lol.
Take care out there.
