Powerlines cleanup

Well, we did our bit :)
All 3 of us from WPC..
2ShortGQ, myself and Patty02 (newbie) rocked up and joined in with a total of 66 vehicles from 16 clubs! Quite a few vehicles..!
I think TheFlyingBadger (the original trip leader) had a headache or something ;)

The day was pretty well organised.
The idea was that we were broken up into 3 groups, each clearing a different section of trhe track. Each vehicle did his 100m of clearing then leapt-frog to the front and did another 100m, with a few trailers following from the rear.
The only thing that got me confused at times was whether I was supposed to clear the 100m behind me or in front of me :-\

Anyway, a huge amount of bottles and cans were recovered, as well as a few flares, mudflaps and other vehicular debris left as evidence of some hard fought battles with a few hills, rocky outcrops and mudpits....
It was amazing to see how many bottles were strewn about the various "challenge" areas... It's obviously becoming a spectator sport ;)

And who brings a huge flat screen TV all the way to the middle of the track just to dump it? Wouldn't waiting for verge clearance be a better option?

It is nice to see that the powerlines is becoming a family track.. Well, I say that based on the baby doo-doos that were disposed of in the bush.. Obviously mum and the baby came along for the ride  >:(

It would be an interesting exercise to analyse the cans and bottles that were recovered.. They might offer a clue as to the brands of beer favoured by your average 4WD yobbo.

Fortunately the weather was good to us.
But I have to admit, after the bit of rain recently, I was disappointed in the lack of mud. :(

2ShortGQ and I decided to give the free "after clean up" barbie in Mudaring a miss and head stright on home after the cleanup to attend to other more pressing domestic issues. But credit to DEC for putting it on.

I'm sure DEC were suitably impressed and Track Care suitably proud of the turnout from the clubs!

Good report Graham

It was a fantastic turn out from a lot of clubs and a very good PR event for all 4WD clubs.

It is a shame these peanuts are smart enough to earn money to buy this stuff and cart it in there but dumb enough to throw it in the bush!!!

Well done guys, I like the way the rubbish is a good indicator of the type of slobs that go up there. Amazing how mum will spend so much cash making darlings Montana, Phoenix and their little brother Gut punch arizona look like a cross between whores and gangster rappers but can't afford some nappy bags. Actually why don't they line up the custody visits for them, drop them off at each of their fathers and have a romantic weekend sculling beam and coke watching the current boyfriend make a d!(k of himself up there. Anybody ever wonder why they never see me up there on a weekend, rant rant etc.
