Doc isn't the only Clubbie with one ...  ;)

IMHO, given the state of the Club finances, perhaps the WPC could reconsider whether to purchase one.
The subject came up a while back but it was deemed we had insufficient funds.

They are certainly a valuable tool for a Trip Leader to carry on Club outings.
...

If it's Tourist Season why is it illegal to shoot 'em?.

I'm not having a second childhood, I'm stuck in my first one.

They are good insurance, I have the SMS version (in reach) there would be 3 issues to be addressed, ensuring it is routinely connected to the net for firmware updates, whoever has it on a trip has  to have the software on their phone and paying for a monthly plan. Having said that they are simple to operate and great for letting people know when you simply running late because you are geographically misplaced or need a D10 to assist you out of a bog.

The spot system I have I can get it for the club for $150 one off fee for the unit. It's then around $160 clams to have it registered yearly.

Very valid point ET.

I've left Doc's HF radio callsign with VKS737 at home, so don't know if he's doing daily skeds.

Well, we are back in civilisation after seeing 3 people, and only getting to talk to 1, in 4 days and that was 2 people on 1 day and 1 on another :o

Stuff broke, laughs were had, experiences gained and sights seen.

Trip reports coming soon.  8)

Kept an eye on you via 'spot' looks like a great trip. Noted that you called civilisation at Perth not Leonora or laverton or even kalgoorlie
