Manji muster trip report
« on: 03 March, 2014, 07:01:01 PM »
Well, between ETs "not the Manji Muster trip report" and Andrew's video in the same post, the Manjimup camping weekend trip report has pretty well been done.

Neat and tidy caravan park?  Check.
World's smallest farmer's market?  Check
World's most annoying kid?  Check
Chewy nearly doing that which he is named for to Iffy's gonads?  Check!

I'd just like to add that the visit to Fonty's pool was great fun for the big and the little kids alike. A stay at the Fonty's pool caravan park is now definitely on our to do list.
After Fonty's we went for a drive out to Glenoran pool. Then we went looking for One Tree Hill, but realised we had mixed up the name of a nearby bridge with a TV show.

At night we lit a fire in the pit but had to sit well back from it as it wasn't actually cold outside. It was purely for cooking marshmallows and looking at.
On Sunday, a group of us went for a drive through the forest down the Great Forest Trees drive. The dry conditions meant visibility wasn't the best due to the dust. We drove around the camping ground at the old Shannon town site and down to the Shannon dam. We stopped
d at the dam for about 20 seconds. We got back in the cars because we were concerned that the swarm of march flies that came for us would pick up the Patrols and fly away with them.
In the afternoon we went to the playground at the Manjimup timber museum. What an awesome park! Flying foxes, swings and a water play area. Again, the big kids and little kids had a great time.
Monday morning came and it was time for the dreaded pack up. The weekend was over too soon. I'm sure a great time was had by all. The whole atmosphere of the weekend was great with everyone joining in and handing around nibblies, cakes a desserts.
Thanks Thomas for organising everything. Hopefully next time you'll put the sign on sheets in the right car!  :)
