The 'not the' Manji Muster Trip Report
« on: 02 March, 2014, 02:32:14 PM »
(Mods feel free to delete/move as necessary)

Seeing as I got there first, left first, didn't urine off the Trip Leader and Chewy didn't eat any of his kids this is not the Manji Muster Trip Report.
It is, however, a BIG thanks to Thomas for sorting the venue and organising the trip and also a BIG thanks to the rest of the mob that came along.

I have to mention that the Manjimup Central Caravan Park is an awesome spot to stay. They might not have a pool but the host and staff are friendly as, the ablutions immaculate and the tucker at the cafe very good and very moderately priced.
Chewy and I had an uneventful and "yarkle free" trip down in "nameless" early Friday. The prep day on Thursday is another story but once we hit the road Fri morn everything pretty much sorted out.

Gary, the host, had a huge lawn area set aside for our mob and opened one of his ensuites for our use as well. We were near the camp kitchen and fireplace so perfect spot really. Chewy tried to tear him a new one when he got a tad close to "nameless" but they parted as friends in the end.
There was an area flood light but Iffy broke it.
There was a spotless double BBQ (thats BBQ not 1BBQ) but Lina broke it so it's still spotless.
There was a PIA kid from some bogan parentage but 1BBQ broke him (we wish!!!).
There was a daily double of whinging grey nomads but 1short GQ 1 long GU broke them before I could let Chewy off the lead.
There was birthday cake at Robs tent.
There was a cameo by YT1300 who dropped down for the day from Collie (Glad to meet ya, Cobber)
There was open house at the Tvan.
There was a heap of find the dummy hunts at L300's
and there was some very tasty home smoked cheeses, meats and doovers passed around (drool)

Chewy was a bit hungry yest and got Iffy's wedding tackle confused with a chicken neck.
Chewy normally starts off by cutting them (chicken necks that is) in half with one bite, flicks the first half in the air and swallows it whole then crunches the second half to mash.
I was pretty amazed when he "dropped" on command... first time he's ever done that.
So was Iffy apparently.

Depending who you ask the highlight yesterday was either the Worlds Smallest Farmers Market, the "big kids" taking the "little kids" to Fonty's Pool for a swim or the impromptu cricket match.
Ask the locals at the worlds smallest farmers market and it was the day they got invaded by this huge mob (we outnumbered the stalls 3 to 1) but jeez the fruit was yummmmeeeeeeeee esp the Plums and the Strawb's
Ask the "big kids" and it was "seeing the little kids have so much fun at Fontys".
Apparently as soon as the "big kids" saw the tubes, bridge and tower it was second childhood all over again.
Ask the "little kids" and yeah the swim was good fun but it was the almost endles game of cricket which they are adamant they won.
Ask me it was L300's "Spider Cam" that stole the show as usual (you sooooo should have done a couple of hi-speed flybys of the grey nomads area, Mate)

Chewy and I opted to go thru the kauri forest tracks and cut over to Black Point instead of Fonty's but didn't get there. The track that used to be 4WD sand is now bitumen and the 37 "Do Not ...." signs pissed me off so we went to Queens Island, 4 Aces, One Tree Bridge and had a swim at Glenoran Pool and then lo and behold the rest of the mob turned up at One Tree Bridge just as we were leaving.

It was a shame "nameless", Chewy and I had to come home today as the mob was doing some of the forest explorer tracks and whatever else seemed like a good idea as teh day unfolded.
Overall it was a totally laid back do your own thing family trip and I had a terrific time plus got a bit of a feel for the new Ute.
Come to think of it there was a few people getting some quality time up in their newly acquired rigs.
I got around 16 LPH towing so I'll need to lift the foot even more on the "Litres Per Hundred" gauge eh Thomas  ;)

Thanks again Thomas and all who attended  8)

P.S. who scored the trip report?

...

If it's Tourist Season why is it illegal to shoot 'em?.

"3 Tits... Awesome"

The voices in my head may not be real, but they have some good ideas!

I'm not having a second childhood, I'm stuck in my first one.

Andrew brilliant video. Sound and text perfect. It was like being there. Another trip we missed out on. Note to self and 'her', don't go to Broome for her birthday when there's a WPC trip on!
