What a trip!!
Well it all started on saturday afternoon. I arrived at the meeting point at 3:30pm joined shortly after by tim (thowe) and then fish at the 4 oclock mark. We decided pretty quickly that we would head off so we had enough sun light to set up camp.
We set off down great eastern highway turning right onto great southern highway and then right onto wundabiniring rd which had same nasty bog holes on it and the ones that i went through smelt absolutely delightful (sarcasm level 100%)
A short while after we found camp and set up for the night... we set up the camp fire, opened a few bevies when from out of no where AB turn up to say hello but unfortunately could only stay for a quick chat. We cook up some dinner (over the campfire of course) had drinks, laughs, chats and screaming excitement when tim turned on the radio and we caught the last minutes of the west coast game (what a ripper). We finally decided to turn in at about midnight..
6:00 am wake up with the sound of birds chirping away.. i got the fire going again as tim pop his head out of his swag. We cooked up some breakfast as fish joined us and we discussed the days activities and headed off toward mt observation.
On our travels we saw quite a few other nice camp spots HOWEVER we came to a boghole that tim just couldn't refuse so he gave it a crack and almost made it on the second go but just "diffed out". Now i have a snatch strap to clean.. yay!!
We then headed off to the powerlines track where our next adventure would start. We started to traverse the many ups and down of the powerline track when about 7kms in we were flagged down by some dirt bike riders who one of which had come off and injured himself. The man was having trouble breathing, possible bruised/broken ribs and was generally dazed and confused.
We decided we couldnt leave them there because there was no way he was leaving on a bike so we offered to put him in tims patrol and bring him slowly to flynn rd where there base camp was. After dropping him off and making sure they got out ok we set off on a nice stroll up the rest of the track, passing some drowned landcruisers along the way..
We concluded the trip at the tanks and went our own ways after that. I would like to thank fish on another great trip and cant wait for the next one!!!
Cheers
KINANG.
