Thought I would kick this off.

Thursday 22 Oct
The Rusty clan (Paul, Maree and Trent) had an relatively early departure from home with the Y62 and Jayco camper in tow.
The trip was nothing out of the ordinary with our usual stop at Tammin for use of their amenities and a "safety splash" of fuel and a good run through the roadworks with only one large-ish delay.
I rolled into ARB Kalgoorlie about 1:30pm where the rest of the WPC crew were waiting.
Greetings made and race radio fitted it was time for a fuel up and run out to the Lake to setup camp.

The WPC Lake campsite was soon complete with Dman (Dermot) with his swag and awning, Dusty (Daniel) and mate John in a forward-fold camper, Ropes (Craig) and Jackson in their "Swiss army knife" off-road camper and swag and Zanks (Peter) in his swag.

The groups headed off to check Checkpoints and so on with the Rusty's heading into town to buy beer and food, have a bevvy at Judds and then meet up with the rest at the street party/briefing before the run back to camp.

Friday 23 Oct
A mostly relaxing day with some pottering around camp or some further reccy work.
While the competitors did sighting laps, prologue and a shootout we went out and drove some of the track and then went into the Start/Finish to meet up with friends/competitors, grab some gear and watch some of the action.
The bush TV (fire) was cranked up at camp and the group got a chance to reset for the weekend.

Saturday 24 Oct - Checkpoint 6
We were in place by 6am, ready for the days action. @ bike races and one car race.
Traffic control soon turned up as we where positioned where the race track crosses a mine road.
Bacon and eggs to start the day with the first bikes running past our checkpoint about 7:40. A big field of bikes kept us busy and Dman (CP8) and the 2 traffic controllers kept us entertained.
Ropes worked as a sweep (and sometimes as CP7) and Dusty managed CP10.
Thankfully it was event free at our CP but others were not so lucky and the medics and sweeps kept busy.
After a long and hot day it was great to get back to camp for a hot shower, a cold bevvy and a spot of dinner.
Some even jumped into their PJs before convening at the fire for a chat with Mark and Reggie (from CP7) joining the WPC crew at our Lake camp.

Sunday 24 Oct - CP6
Again an early start and setup for a day of racing (2 car, 1 bike) and some more action on track.
Sadly a few bike riders were injured but despite the track being cut up badly near us we again missed out on any dramas.
We met up with the some of the others after the race to head back to Race HQ to hand in our radios before heading into town to wet our throats and to compare stories.
Back to camp for a shower and dinner before watching the bush TV and solving all the world's problems.

Monday 25 Oct
Time to pack up and head home with a quick stop in Coolgardie for breakfast and an easy run home.

Thanks to Trip Leader Ropes and all the WPC crew on another great event and fun getaway.
See you there for 2021.
