Gnomesville Reccy 31 May 2020
« on: 31 May, 2020, 07:19:17 PM »
Well we finally got underway on this one with all the participants meeting up at THE Pinjarra Bakery.
Budds, Kinang, Iffy, Goose, Superjacs, Mrs Superjacs, SouthSiderUnder and son and friend.

After the drivers meeting and a chat about convoy procedures we set off in convoy along the Southwest HWY until we reached the turn off to Henry Rd making our way to the start of the Wellington State Forrest.

This is where the fun began, there was some rocky climbs and descents, some muddy climbs and descents. There was three turn around and three different Trip Leaders until we almost came to a show stopper.

A bloody big tree blocking the track. So next weekend will be an adventure as we will be taking a slightly different route.

We finally popped out onto Wellington Mill Rd and aired up before heading for Gnomesville.

We searched high and low but were unable to find our Gnomeunity. So when we get there we will offer a prize for the first person to locate our Gnomes.

To all who attended, thank you for coming along. I hope that you all had a great day out. It was good to engage the stubbie lever.
Lest We Forget

Hmmmm... well, I know exactly where our Gnomes and Plaque should be... but... we (Jarick clan) haven't been there since the big cleanup in Oct '18 but about 2 years back Apr 18 they were all OK.

The deal then was all Gnomes on the farmers land had to be removed, the broken Gnomes on the reserve from tree branch falls etc would be removed and other maint. carried out to the paths, bridges, car layby etc.

I think there was a 3 month notice period where people would be able to get their Gnomes and put them back after Council finished and the Gnomes still there would be left if possible or removed and replaced as best the Council could do given people from all around the world are involved.

Our WPC Gnomunnity should have been unaffected where they were at the time as our tree was OK but they were right beside one of the tracks and the Vehicle Layby.

I might nip down tomorrow and check...

If it's Tourist Season why is it illegal to shoot 'em?.

There was a bit of leaf litter around from the storms so I'll hoping the plaque was just covered and we couldn't see it.. I started reading names on gnomes but nothing seemed familiar

 :'( :'( :'(

Well, our Gnommunity is officially M.I.A.

Where they were is untouched by the Site Works (just) but it appears that all the original Gnomes in that area, not just ours, are gone and different ones (and a lot more than pre Oct 2018) are in their place.

My suspicion is that they were all cleared out, the works carried out and a whole shitload just laid back wherever as a whole bunch are just 'soldier stacked' in rows which is not how people normally place them

I tried doing a Fotofit to see if any of ours at all were back in the area but alas, no matches, checked the Hospitals and Airport Security no joy there either... so the G.S.I.O has been alerted.

There is a possibility the Plaque got buried in dirt (doubtful) or moved to a different area (equally doubtful) so maybe a slight chance of it being found, but, the Shire Volly's etc would have no idea which Gnomes would go with which "families" so I reckon there is almost no chance of finding them in a group.

So I'm guessing Ozmerician never made it in to rescue them before the site works? I can remember there was a discussion about it?
