Meet and Greet 2016 - Trip Report
« on: 27 November, 2016, 07:25:48 PM »
Myself and wife would just quickly like to thank the Western Patrol Club for a great day out.
Everyone was very friendly and willing to have a chat, just what we have been looking for to get back out
with like minded people.
We will definitely be applying to become members (if accepted).

Thanks again for a most enjoyable day out.
Brad (NAGA) & Chandelle (Chanie)

Thanks to AB for organizing a great trip today. Carole and I had a great day out - but unfortunately still got home early enough to get put to work in the garden.

well, we started off with BillSTS & his lovely wife Lisa arriving at our place around 7.30, so we set off to find a coffee in Mundaring while awaiting getting closer to 9.00........
didnt want to get there late, as I didnt want to write a trip report (like now.............................)

we ended up at the "Mundaring Artisan Bakery Cafe"............ bit of a mouthful, but the food looked and tasted nice, the coffee was so so

so after debating the 4.6km from Peak instructions (Chidlow Road corner with Great Eastern Highway, Sawyers Valley (being 4.6kms east of the Peak fuel station, Chidlow).) and deciding there are other and better features to base from - like 2.6kms from Traffic Lights / Hungry Jacks / Dome Cafe in Mundaring etc.....
we headed off in search of Chidlow Rd......I had seen 4bye4 passing us, so I knew I would either find them - or not -
either way it was sounding like fun already

after 4.6km from Peak fuel in Chidlow (as the crow fly's) more like 6kms by road we found Chidlow Rd & 4bye and Kinang parked up under some trees, so we thought we would try and spoil their day by stopping

after awhile, a fare few more arrived, and then AB had the nefarious task of rounding us up, getting people signed on etc and then giving us a briefing

with all the official gear done and dusted - 20 Patrols rolled down Chidlow rd on their way to fun and adventure

we met up with what would seem to be someone from the "Beachy" school of navigation - a couple of times.....
however, they were good - real good
usually found out about 1km past the turn off.........

a couple of piccies for Ya'all

Photobucket was playing silly buggers on me.............

why can we not just post pictures straight to the forum like most other forums.........
without the need for stupid Photobucket

anyway

A big thanks to AB for his hard work on making this happen.  Really appreciated mate.

Great write up, great photos and a great day!  Due to "stuff" it's the first trip for the year for Lin and I and it was terrific to see everyone, get out of the house, meet new folks and give the Troll a run.

Was great seeing everyone.

EDIT:

Now for the pics:
