Is this another separate trip from the cook up on August 17-19??  A bit confuse here.

Thanks for clarification and my apology if I didn't read it properly.

At the moment this is only open to Clubbies, but am after thought of opening to friends and guests. They just would be able to win the trophy.

I await your feedback

Personally my view is...

If it is a Members Only trip then problem solved.

If it is a Members and Guests then I reckon they (Guests, Friends et al) should absolutely be encouraged to participate.
I also wouldn't have an issue with them winning the Trophy but the Trophy stays with the WPC.

Happy to go with the flow either way and also regards who gets the Trophy... winner or highest placed WPC financial if the winner isn't a financial member
...

If it's Tourist Season why is it illegal to shoot 'em?.

... can we please turn the 'editing' ability back on.
I know why it was turned off but that issue was resolved.

Meant to add that I would lean towards opening the event but, again, no biggee either way

Thanks Kinang & Budds for clarification.  I got 'confucius' bec of suggestions of combining the 2 events.  My fully booked calendar has the August oven cooking, but unfortunately we have another commitment on the long weekend of September.  We are very sorry that we cannot attend this year but promise - will be present next year (Greg said maybe).  Don't like making promises I can't keep.  Thank you guys!.... Jonesy (Pauline)

About trophy - if I can open my mouth again - visitors can compete or do the drive but only paid members should win the trophy.  They have to join. Thanx!

I would think that, when we get to the point of being able to look back on previous winners, it would be better if they were all current or past members.
Random names like "Robbo (friend of Bogman)" would have little sentimenatl value.
You're never too old to learn something stupid.

Club trophy should be awarded to the best performance by a club member.

Not trying to go against the status quo here  >:D but whilst I am in support of allowing friends and family to participate in the gymkhana I dont believe in awarding or receiving a trophy for something that I DID NOT WIN!!!

How would the presentation go: we've tallied the scores and the winner is Robbo (friend of bogman) however hes not a wpc member therefore we will give it to the best placed loser..

Hollow victory in my opinion.. also what is the point in participating if you can't win anything.

Perhaps it could be a token gift (in lieu of) for non-member winners and the perpetual trophy for a member winner?

Just take a lead from modern society....and reward everyone a "participation trophy". Problem solved.

What the trophy means to me.  It is something to aspire to; it is a great privilege to win; it is an honor to win it.  If outsiders who are ratbags hear that this club has a competition and they can win it and not be a member, they will go for it.  What's the point of paying membership fees?  It took me 7yrs of trying to win a trophy and it now has pride in the "Pool Room".  This is my opinion.... I like the sound of this
DID YOU KNOW......Great Northern Highway links Western Australia's capital city Perth with its northernmost port, Wyndham. With a length of almost 3,200 kilometres (2,000 mi), it is the longest highway in Australia
