Wedge Island is located 160 kilometres north of Perth near the town of Cervantes. The geography of the area is coastal sand dunes and bush land with beaches accessible to vehicles. Four wheel drive access only.

It is the site of about 360 shacks used as holiday homes to many Perth families. Wedge Island is visited by numerous four wheel drive tour buses from the city showing visitors the some of the best coastal stretches of Western Australia.

Daytrippers travel to Wedge Island to ride motorbikes and four wheel drive the dunes, fish, dive, swim, surf and windsurf.
